Booking Through Thursday

Today’s question comes from Conspiracy-Girl:
I’m still relatively new to this meme so I’m not sure if this has been asked yet, but I’m curious how many of us write notes in our books. Are you a Footprint Leaver or a Preservationist?

I totally leave my thoughts, underlinings, notes to others, and general randomness in books. I wish I could say I was neat or fluent or even pertinent to what I am reading. When I return to the passage sometimes my thoughts are so random it can be difficult for me to decipher the note! This 'problem' of mine is further evidenced by the random picutre I have placed in this post! I do think notes are a sign the book was well loved or at least left an impact with the reader.

This is first entry I found which speaks of writing in a book. I have a few second hand books where the previous reader has scribbled his/her thoughts. It does make interesting readig at times.

As for me, I don't scribble..

I think you make a good point about knowing a book has been well loved--or at least appreciated--when footprints are left behind.

If I am reading a book, unless it is the book of someone I know and care about, I prefer not to be distracted by someone else's notes, but I have no problems with someone choosing to write in his or her own books if that is what will enhance the reading experience.

Wow! Yes, you are the first one I read about writing in her books. Happy BTT!
