This I believe

This I Believe
Tonight was the first night of Mayflower's Lenten series. The thought is to make a personal credo. This would be a personal principle that guides your life. My mind is racing along on where to start in writing my own personal credo. I'm not sure where to begin . . . I need to "tell a specific story" I need to "be brief" I need to "name my belief" I need to "be positive" and I need to "be personal". Contemplation will definitely take place in the next two weeks. This I believe.

25 Troops Killed in Iraq Today

Today at Mayflower Dr. Meyers reflected on Martin Luther King and the sermon he preached from the Riverside Church exactly one year before he was assassinated. In this sermon Dr. King also quoted President Kennedy, "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." The similarities between these two wars --- Vietnam and Iraq --- are quite apparent. Dr. Meyers expressed this will be the year when the nation rises together to protest the war in Iraq. So for more information and updates that provide information on the war check out here (I know he is biased but so am I) and also here (makes me smile!). Also if you have the time and want to read more about Dr. King this website is very excellent!
