Resilience Continued

Since I wrote about optimism last night I looked at my day with a more optimistic lens. The wait for lunch went well, my conceivably worst appointment of the week went quite well and I am sitting here looking forward to tomorrow!

Day 2 of resilience is to develop self-knowledge. I just presented on this in DC and believe this component is something that is overlooked by professionals (or others?) who feel they are at a point of not learning something new and different. We must always feel the need to identify our strengths and challenges. The process that we developed explored knowledge or content area to grow and then identify goals which are demonstrable in your area or practice. This is similar to losing weight --- buck up and do it (very very difficult)!

Also, one last thing, who knows what the oriental script really says? I am going to have to ask my very very Korean sister-in-law what this says!

This appears to be a saying from Confucius:

Do not wish for quick results, nor look for small advantages.
If you seek quick results, you will not reach the ultimate
goal. If you are led astray by small advantages, you will
never accomplish great things.

I studied a bit of Mandarin in Junior High.
